Find UDID for an iPhone or an iPad

A UDID (Unique Device Identifier) is a long string of characters used to uniquely identify an iOS device. It typically looks like this: 00007030-001839E021E8402E
You might need your device’s UDID for specific cases to restrict access to an application (Ad Hoc, Development, or Enterprise) exclusively to registered devices.
Follow the methods below to retrieve the UDID of an iPad or iPhone.
Method 1: Use Finder (macOS Catalina and later versions)
- Connect your device:
- Plug your device into your Mac using a USB cable.
- Open Finder:
- Launch Finder and locate your device in the sidebar.
- Find the UDID:
- Click on your iPhone/iPad in the sidebar.
- In the device's main panel, locate the Serial Number field.
- Click on the Serial Number to toggle to the UDID.
- Copy the UDID:
- Right-click on the UDID (or press Command + C) to copy it.
Method 2: Use iTunes (Windows or older macOS versions)
- Connect your device:
- Use a USB cable to connect your iPad to your computer.
- Open iTunes:
- Launch iTunes and select your device.
- Locate the UDID:
- Find the Serial Number under your device's name.
- Click on the Serial Number to cycle through identifiers until the UDID appears.
- Copy the UDID:
- Once the UDID is displayed, right-click on it (or press Ctrl + C on Windows) to copy it.

Share your UDID
After retrieving your UDID, it will look like this: 00007030-001839E021E8402E
