Pinsert an image

An amazing app is also one with lots of great images! Discover how to insert an image in your project.

PandaSuite handles the integration and optimization of your image format to offer the best display on all kinds of supports (Retina, etc.): this is one advantage of working in the cloud.

The following formats are accepted: .gif; .jpg; .jpeg; .png; .tiff; .tif

You can also add vector images.

1. Insert an image

There are two ways to insert an image:

  • Click on Images at the top of the screen.
You can either select an image already inserted in My Cloud or select the file from your hard drive by clicking on + NEW IMAGE. Your image will be directly added to the center of your screen and also in your My Cloud window.

  • Or go to Medias.
Click on the green + ADD button to browse the content of your hard drive and select your image. It is currently available in quick access but is not part of your project. To do this, you simply need to drag it to the selected screen.

2. Edit an image

Once you've inserted your image, the Properties window will appear allowing you to configure your image’s main attributes:

Image_s_properties.png

  • User interaction: unchecking this box means that users are unable to launch an interaction that you may have defined for this image.

  • Change source (blue button): this lets you replace your image with another one while retaining the properties you previously defined in your project. This is especially useful when you duplicate a layout.

  • Quality: this optimizes your image display depending on its initial resolution. Color indicators will show you whether the quality of the image is poor.

Reminder: to ensure a sharp display of your images on an HD tablet (such as an iPad Retina), your images need to be twice as large as necessary, because when they are imported they will be halved in size.

Good news: PandaStudio adapts your image to the right format when you import it. We automatically assign a 50% quality to your image (unless your image is still too big for your screen, in which case, we reduce it further).

  • Mask: by clicking on ADD MASK, you can define the visible part of your image and its shape (square, round, bubble, triangle, star, etc). You are now entering a specific mode, with the green color. Read the article: Create a mask.

  • Outline and round corners: you can give your image an outline or round its corners.
