Create an interactive action

Create an interactive action

Interactivity comes in two steps:

  • choosing a trigger, explained in the article Learn about triggers;
  • and then choosing the action, explained in this article.

Now that you've selected your trigger, you can choose from 9 possible actions:

Actions_available.png

  • Change screen
  • Change state
  • Interact with a component
  • External action/content
  • Change foreground
  • Change background
  • Change language
  • Global actions sounds
  • Back to previous screen/state

Each action is compatible with all triggers. For the following explanations, we will take as an example the Single tap/click trigger applied to a shape.

The list of interactive actions

1. Go to screen

This action lets you change screen: select the screen, the state you want to display and define a delay to execute this action.

2. Go to state

This action lets you display another state within the same screen:

  • Select a specific state: Change state
Select a state from the list or a random state. You can then define a delay to execute this action and a duration between states.

  • Select the previous or next state: Previous state or Next state Please note: the order of the states is based on their position in the list. You can define a delay to execute this action, a duration between states, an interval between states and activate the loop mode.

3. Interact with a component

This is the most important action: you can act directly on the features of your components. After selecting this action, you enter a specific mode (orange background) and are prompted to select the component on the current state, on another state (using the Screens window) or from the List of Objects.

Depending on the component you select and the parameters you defined earlier, you'access a list of possible actions.

You can choose a random action and define a delay for this action.

Example: Change the page of the gallery when touching a shape

  • Select the shape, click on Interactivity and the Single Tap trigger.

  • Select the action Interact with a component. Click on the gallery on your screen and in the list of actions, select Change page and click on the page you want.

This action can be very useful when associated with markers, because it makes it possible to combine two components (recommended for advanced users). See the article Learn about markers.

4.External/action content

This lets you display a website, a PDF file or an online video. You can define a delay to execute this action.

5. Change background/foreground

This action changes the foreground or background based on the states you defined earlier

  • Select a specific foreground/background: Change foreground/background
Select a state from the list or a random state. You can then define a delay to execute this action and a duration between states.

  • SSelect the previous or next foreground/background: Previous foreground/background or Next foreground/background Please note: the order of the states is based on their position in the list. You can define a delay to execute this action, a duration between states, an intervall between states and activate the loop mode.

Learn more: Use foreground and background.

6. Chang language

This action allows you to change the name of your project. Creating language buttons can be pretty useful. As for all other actions, you can define a delay.

Learn more: Create a multi-lingual application.

7. Global actions sounds

This action let you (re)activate or stop all sounds. This is a global action on all sounds. You can only do this once sound has been added to your project. The same with the delay ;-)

Reminder: your audio file must be included in the LIST OF OBJECTS (bottom left of screen), “System” tab, that brings together all the objects you can’t see in your screen (see Insert an audio file).

8. Back to previous state/screen

This action will help you create a return. Also with a delay if you want. :-)

9. Exception

If I set an action on an item that has 0% opacity, it won't work.
