Now you've spent some time on the studio, it’s time to go one step further and get to grips with markers!
A marker can be applied to most components to identify a precise situation in terms of time, tilt, direction or position. It enables you to add specific interactions to your component.
1. How to create a marker?
To create a marker, click on the EDIT button in the Properties window of your component or simply double-click on your component.
Place your component where you want to “mark” it (with your mouse in the creative zone, or for some components, by using the player in the window) and click on the + ADD button in the window on the left.
This new marker will be displayed in the list: you can edit or delete it in this same window.
Once markers have been created on your component, you can select the one that will be automatically displayed on your component when uploading the state (default marker). You can define it in your Properties window or use the thumbtack icon in your list of component markers.
2. How to add interactivity to markers?
Once a marker has been created on a component, it can be turned into a trigger, in addition to standard triggers. To do so, select the “marked” component and click on Interactivities: your marker is displayed at the top of the list.
Example of HD Zoom markers turned into triggers (Interactivities window):
Note: markers do not affect “normal” interactions on your component. If no action has been created on your markers, users will still be able to interact normally with the classic features of your component (for instance, they can still zoom in on an interactive image or scroll through a text).
